This art got it’s start on the Crow Reservation on the ranch of Ken Real Bird. It was Ken who painted Crow-1, the horse who eventually became the icon for an exhibit titled A Song for the Horse Nation at the Smithsonian National Museum of the American Indian. For 13 months a 16 foot tall banner of the art hung from the Museum on the National Mall.
