The symbols on the chest of this War Pony were the last detail Ken Real Bird painted before I began photographing this horse. They are an interpretation of Dragonflies. A great-great grandfather of Ken’s was a Crow Chief and in his ceremony he was given a spiritual symbol - the Dragonfly. Having this on a War Pony is personal and a gift from Ken.
